Acidophilus Probiotics supplement, Bio-Culture complements the friendly bacteria in your stomach to aid digestion. Each Pharma Nord Bio-Culture capsule contains 4 billion live bacteria, protected within a stomach resistant gel. Many probiotic products are unable to deliver viable bacteria to the small intestine because the bacteria are killed off by stomach acid before reaching their destination. Bio Culture capsules feature a special gel matrix that is formed in the stomach once the capsule dissolves. The matrix contains the bacteria in a safe, acid-resistant environment and does not release them until they have reached the small intestine – the point of absorption.

What are Probiotics?
Probiotics are dietary supplements containing living microrganisms that help maintain healthy functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, altering the balance of intestinal bacterial flora in favour of beneficial organisms. The best-studied probiotics are the lactic acid bacterial strains Lactobacillus acidophilus (preferentially colonizing the small intestine) and Bifidobacterium lactis (preferentially colonizing the large intestine), which are components of the natural intestinal flora.
Pharma Nord's Acidophilus Probiotics, Bio Culture contains both Lactobacilus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium lactis.
What do Probiotics do?
Supplementation with Bio-Culture increases the number of 'friendly' bacteria which then competes with the 'bad' bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract for nutrients, space and oxygen. These friendly bacteria also produce chemical substances that inhibit the growth of bad bacteria, helping to maintain a healthy immune function.
How much should you take?
Pharma Nord recommends 1 capsule 3 times per day, or as directed by a physician.
Suitable for vegetarians.
Recommended Daily Allowance
No recommended daily allowance. Levels of naturally occurring probiotic lactic acid bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract decrease with age and are reduced following the intake of alcohol and certain medicines.
